Students will be writing a story using paper and pencil to practice writing proper sentences. For the purpose of this assignment, I create a slide show which represents the different pages in their story. As an extension on their lesson, the media specialist could set up a template on the computer for the students to also create their stories electronically, which would look like something similar to this.
Seventh Grade
The students will be writing three journal entries throughout the literature circle. The following link is an example of what the students will be creating. Note: I chose to provide journal entries as the example product being produced instead of the brochure or other products, because from my previous experiences, students struggle more with writing journal entries written from the character's perspective. Because sample brochures and other sample ideas will be provided, I feel that the journal entry samples will help the students even more.
